Square Books ("we", "our", or "us") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable U.S. laws. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit https://www.thesquarebooks.com/ or https://start.thesquarebooks.com, or when you submit an inquiry, survey or booking through our pages or ads.

  • Information submitted via contact forms, surveys and booking pages
  • Your survey answers: your role, your approximate annual revenue range, the challenge you pick, and how soon you want help

  • Pages visited and timestamps
  • Referral and campaign information, such as which ad, link or platform brought you to our pages

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries
  • Schedule and prepare for Discovery Calls
  • Understand whether our services may be a fit for you
  • Provide services
  • Send booking confirmations, reminders and scheduling updates, including by text message if you agreed to it
  • Improve website performance
  • Measure and improve our advertising
  • Communicate with users by phone and email, as you agreed on our forms

3. No Professional Advice via Website

Information submitted through this website does not create a client relationship and will not be treated as confidential or privileged until a formal engagement is established.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with:

  • Service providers (hosting, analytics, contact and scheduling tools, email and text messaging providers)
  • Advertising platforms, such as Meta, as described in Section 8
  • Legal authorities if required by law

Some state laws treat sharing information with advertising platforms as "sharing" or "sale" for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in Sections 7 and 8. We do not send your survey answers, including your revenue range, to advertising platforms.

Text messaging: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver our text messages.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data as long as necessary for business or legal purposes. We keep records of your consent choices for as long as we need them to show that consent was given.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Privacy Rights (U.S.)

Depending on your state, you may have rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws, including:

  • Right to access personal data

8. Cookies, Tracking and Advertising

We may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our pages and to measure and improve our advertising. These include the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API.

If you agree on our forms, we may send limited information to Meta when you submit a form, such as a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address or phone number and the fact that you submitted the form. We do not send your survey answers, including revenue information.

The advertising box on our forms is optional. If you leave it unticked, we do not send your information to advertising platforms through the form. You can also manage cookies in your browser and your ad settings in your Meta account.

9. Text Messaging (SMS)

Text messages come from Square Books at (413) 772-5533.

  • What we send: If you agree on our forms or booking pages, you will receive text messages about your Discovery Call, such as booking confirmations, reminders, rescheduling updates and support replies.
  • Consent: You will only receive texts if you have agreed. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything. We keep a time-stamped record of your choice.
  • No promotional texts: We do not send marketing or promotional text messages unless you separately agree to receive them.
  • Frequency and rates: Message frequency varies with your booking and your questions. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt out and help: Reply STOP at any time to cancel. You will get one confirmation and no further texts unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using Section 13.
  • Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Age: You must be 18 or older to receive our text messages.

We follow applicable laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

10. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services governed by their own privacy policies, such as tools for contact management, scheduling and messaging, website hosting, and advertising.

11. Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13.
